I’m looking to get my first MTB and I was hoping for a little advice. I’m looking at a 2022 Stumpjumper Alloy vs a Stumpjumper Expert (they don’t have a comp). It’s about a 1900 USD difference between the two and I’m not sure how worth it that is. I’m currently on the east coast, but plan on moving to the Cascades or Rockies in little less than 2 years. Should I just save some money now and upgrade once I’ve gotten more experience under my belt, know what I like, and move out west, or am I gonna be happy with the expert for a long while? I was also kinda looking at the Canyon Spectral CF 7, but the measly $400 discount on it definitely doesn’t compare to the 2022 stumpjumpers I found. Not sure why the discount on it is so much lower than the other trims. The Spectral CF 8 is practically the same price rn.
Edit: I’m not 100% sure what type of riding I will be doing mainly, I think it will be a good mix of trails near me and then some trips to bike parks. So I’d like to not have to rent at the park, but also not hate my life when I am somewhere without a lift. That’s what lead me to the trail category of a bike.
