I escape the city for a bikepacking trip to the beautiful Chilterns, testing out my winter cycling kit along the way.
I plan to stay on a hill, for a chilly night under the stars with temperatures as low as 1 degrees celcius.
It’s a 60km or so cycle from where I live to the campsite, just outside High Wycombe.
I will also reveal some exciting plans for my next major trip.
Will I stay warm enough?

Hi Darin a nice video and feed back on the sleeping bag thanks and keep riding 😀
Thanks for sharing Darin, the new toys look good and should serve you well for a long time to come. I look forward to the Loch Ness film. I cycled past it one summer so will be interesting to see it in the winter.
Good camping equipment is always worth the investment, just compare it to the cost of a night in a hotel and the gear will pay for itself in no time! Great trip reports!
Carry a couple of pairs of surgical gloves, they are great to keep the oil of your hands.
Another nice video really enjoying your content.
Excellent. Well done for getting out in the cold.
That’s a great bag, look forward to seeing your winter adventures ⚽️
Nice little film of your adventure. Winter nights in a tent can be so long as it gets dark so early. That bag looked very cosy.
Enjoyed your coverage of the red kite reintroduction story – something I had involvement with during my career.
Sometimes the background music was a bit intrusive IMO, as I struggled to hear what you were saying. I’d prefer more natural sounds & less and quieter, music.
Thanks for making the film.
Nice little adventure in the Chilterns. Look forward to the next one. Will you or won't you catch a glimpse of Nessie, the Loch Ness monster?!
Great video. My 3 season bag is 1.1 kg then I add a liner (synthetic as i don't use down). I like the bushbox.
Very nice video. Thanks for sharing. I always love seeing how folks fit all their gear on to the Brompton for touring, and also where people find to camp during the winter season. I wish all the campsites would stay open during winter!
What’s the campsite?
Birds of prey won’t attack you….nothing to be scared of, enjoy their magnificence 😊
I love your videos, they are really great !! you are lucky to have those camping sites in the UK. Here in Spain, the only way it is to go camping… it is exciting though. Would it be possible to know what equipment you are using for filming? many thanks
I always use walking mode on Google maps when riding my bike. You won't catch me being whizzed by within an inch of my life.
A great video. Nice and relaxing. As others have said good equipment pays dividends.
Well well – that’s my neck of the woods ! Bgreay video I really enjoyed it ! Keep going and enjoy
