I was recently in Italy without my MTB’s so I decided that this would be the perfect time to take on the city bike challenge. We found some insanely heavy ridemovi rental bikes that have the worst brakes ever, slippery plastic pedals and the smallest tyres I have ever seen which made a perfect combination to see what was possible on these beasts.

We started off with some real basic mobs tricks like the manual and fakie before realising this was quite the challenge. Then things progressed onto riding a technical urban free ride/dh rock section and finally a huge, steep scary stairset!

During the middle of this challenge we decided to stop by Dainese, one of my new sponsors and visit their HQ as it was in town. We got a tour of the DAR museum where we could see some really iconic race suits from the likes of Valentino Rossi, Barry Schene and plenty more legends on two wheels!

I hope that you guys enjoy the video! 🙂

  1. I've been riding motorcycles for almost 18 years now, and live in the US, so our bicycle brakes are the same as Italy's. It seems natural because I've done them my whole life, but if I put them backwards on a bicycle, I might actually enjoy it more. I'm used to the front brake being the right hand lever.

  2. What!?? You were literally in my neighborhood and I missed it??!!
Next time bring an MTB – there are some excellent local trails here! 😁

  3. Shooottt… coming to my home turf and tearing it up! Love it! Give me a ring if you come back, I’ll show you some more stuff we can get silly on with City Bikes 🤘🏼😂 I’ll keep an eye out for you at Bike Fest too!

  4. nice video. are you watching the iom tt. also the first two manuals on the city bike is as high as i can get mine how do i get them higher like the 3rd one.

  5. Those suits have a load of nostalgia. City bikes in the hands of mountain bike riders are definitely going to be put through their paces. Cool video Tom.

  6. Wow Tom and Kara what a fantastic video I thought you would of broken the Bike they certainly ain’t designed for what you was doing on it. Looking forward to watching your next video take care you both

  7. how in the world could they charge you that much more on the one bike vs the other? you literally picked them up at the same exact time and took the same route, Tom's had more mileage on it from all the tricks. it's a good thing they don't impact sensors on there to detect abuse, because then it would have been way more after all the stair sets were done 🤣

  8. Looks like good fun, but if I got on that bike and it broke on my I wouldn’t be happy. Should have rented actual mountain bikes. Those are not designed for that abuse

  9. As a resident of Florence I can say that this bikes are extreamly expensive. The prices in this video arent the real prices. For a 15min ride you can easily pay 3e that is almost as a taxi drive if you are with your friend or family. They are rip off service. Make attention when you purchase promotions to turn off automatic renewal that can take money off your account continuously. Florence is a city with crowdly street and stone pavement if you don know to escavate the crawd you will be stuck for much more time than you though. You cant park then wherewere you want so check first if that area is covered with the service.
