Wife has decided to get back into mountain biking after a 20 year break. Given she's older, she would like some shorts that offer protection for her hips. I use the 661 EVO shorts and have been very pleased with them. I tried to order her a pair of the women's version but after 8 weeks of 661 ghosting me on order updates (but charging my card at the beginning) I had to file a dispute to which they then finally responded and let me know they're not getting any more in stock. Ever.
I've been searching but have not been able to find anything similar. Almost everything I have found are men's that "can" be worn by women (despite the fact that the smallest pair is a 30" waist). They only thing I've found so far are Knox Action Pro which while listed as Unisex at least show a female model in a pair, and offer an XS. However, these are motorcyle protection shorts which means she'd need to wear them over her regular bike shorts.
Does no one make a pair of armored shorts for women?
