I just got my Aeroroad CF SL 8 in today after days of fumbling by FedEx. It’s the blue and white Alpecin-Fenix, which I think looks incredible. I’ve only ridden gravel for the past year after my road bike was stolen, so I’m itching to go fast on some roads again. And so far, I’m in major infatuation with this bike.

They shipped it with a 4iii power meter crank, which I’m almost positive was an accident. It’s not listed in the components for the CF SL 8 Disc. I’m certainly not complaining though.

However, I did screw up and get the wrong bike computer cockpit mount. Which is what sent me down this rabbit hole…

Apparently there’s only one mount that Canyon sells that works with the H11/H36 Aerocockpit, which fits Garmin but can be adapted to Wahoo for another dumb $20. And this mount is just listed as “unavailable” on the Canyon website. Sold out, I guess? Discontinued?

So I went to Amazon to look for aftermarkets. I think I only saw one, literally just a single seller, with like 6 sales, bad reviews, and 2+ weeks shipping.

I cast a wider net with a general Google search, and there are shockingly few options. I can either get something custom 3D printed by some random shop out of Europe (Race Ware), or try my luck on EBay or AliExpress. Of the latter, it’s all basically the same stock photo that I saw on Amazon, super cheap looking, and mixed-to-horrible reviews. I’ve included the picture of one of these.

I guess I’m a bit surprised that there aren’t more quality aftermarket offerings — are the H11/H36 cockpits just too niche to get other manufacturers to bite?

Is there maybe some hack that I’m overlooking that can get me on the road sooner? I’m going to try and pull the trigger on the 3D printing and another cheap/crappy option from AliExpress, but both of those are going to take weeks to get here. Which is a pretty big bummer. I should be able to enjoy riding more without a computer, but the ability to see exactly how much faster I’m going as compared to gravel trails was a big part of the bike’s draw.

Tips, tricks, insights, et cetera would all be appreciated.
