Part 1 of the Drauradweg – from Toblach (Dobbiaco) in Italy to Lienz in Austria.
The Drauradweg is a cycling route of 510 km along the river Drau, from Toblach in Italy, through Austria to Varazdin in Croatia. We cycled 4 parts of the Drauradweg downstream.
Today we did the first part: the Pustertal. We stayed in a hotel in Lienz, so we drove our car with our bikes to Toblach and parked near the railwaystation. Almost the whole route is going down, so that’s easy and fast riding on our normal bikes. We did this tour (51 km) in 5 hours, incl. breaks. After our arrival in Lienz (15:30), we went back to Toblach by train to pickup our car. A long day!
We ride on normal (bio)bikes. Sometimes we had to walk and push our bikes uphill. But most of time we cycled downhill. Check the Relive at the end of the video for this route!
