After breaking the top tube of a carbon fibre frame (along with my wrist, shoulder, and numerous ribs) in September, I decided that I wanted to try riding some quality steel for a change. Maybe it doesn't fall into vintage byt found this lovely columbus nemo frame for sale in excellent condition.
I've built it up with modern 11 speed shimano (ultegra and 105 components), zipp handlebars and stems, DT swiss wheels, and am feeling ecstatic with the result. Would highly recommend this type of build to anyone riding modern carbon.
I like how easy the bike was to work on without the additions of modern tech (give me external cables on every bike please 🙏) and a little surprised to see the final weight was only a smidgeon more than my carbon bikes, and I haven't exactly used weight weenie components everywhere.
Looking forward to taking this out in a few weeks when I've finally recovered and seeing how it rides, lots of mountains around here. Also looking out for any other steel frames for sale, a bianchi would be nice, as the project eas throughly rewarding.
