I visited Liverpool to pick up a computer from the shopping mall. Whilst there I decided to check out the Christmas Markets to see how they compared with Blackpool’s Christmas by the Sea Markets.
Security is very tight, and photography & filming is not allowed if it is for professional use unless accreditation is given.

  1. Give a person a highviz they're suddenly a law maker,
Looked on google maps and the parking area is gert big so at £3 a day for parking is cheap and making lots of money,
Liverpool was built on shipping and if you were stood by those great buildings up to the early 60's you would of heard the constant sound of ships horns 24/7,
Funny seaports and trains were 24/7 way before someone came up with the term 24/7. backbone of the uk they were.

  2. As a Aussie scouse yes its a thing. My parents born liverpudulians, they came here to Australia as 10 pound poms. So yes Im an Auusie scouse.. I live in Western Australia Perth isnt my capital.. LIVERPOOL is, I am 52 years of age and always proud to be a scouser with an Aussie accent.

  3. I grew up and lived in Morecambe for 30yrs and I’ve never been to Liverpool lol yet I’ve worked all over the UK and visited many places but never been inspired to visit Liverpool

  4. Just a thought about them been touchy about filming at Christmas markets. Could it be they don’t want you showing the rip off prices that they charge ? I live not far from York and their Christmas markets are absolute rip off, the locals tend to give them a wide berth. Pleased you met up with Kev, I watch some of his videos too.

  5. That's strange I watched another blog channel he filmed the market…wierd…I think someone's pulling ur leg…its nice at night..lot of fairy lights…y can't u film wivout a pass daft

  6. I was approached by the police when I took stills at our Christmas market in Newcastle a couple of years ago. They wanted to know what I was doing. I asked them to use their powers of observation to discover that. I was prepared for the forbidden photo routine, but they backed off.

There is no restriction to filming or photography in or from a public place. Nobody except the order of an English court can demand you delete or hand over footage. Copyright rules apply to publishing Images, and of course photographers need to exercise respect when doing so.

  7. Kevin in the Swiss army knife of youtubers 😊 Great video. If you're in public, you can take photos. Is it a Christmas market ,the same one every year ? What's the secret ? Liverpool has lots of visitors who take photos of buildings . St George's Hall being one of them . ?

  8. So the crack down on intrusive vloggers begins. It seems that everyone with a camera has discovered YouTube as a potential source of revenue and are now roaming about practically everywhere.
You were smart Steve to start years ago and I’m guessing that most of these newbies don’t have much of a chance of attracting subs.

  9. Sad thing is the Liverpool city council charge the vendors thousands per week to have the stalls there and so that cost has to be passed on which works out extortionate prices to the public, a good friend of mine used to have a stall and they charged him £3k a week over the small period the Christmas markets where open, so he didn’t earn a penny until he passed 5k a week because of the 3k to council plus the 1k for the produce and then another 1k for staff which was just 2 staff @£350 each a week and the tax and national insurance on top of that charged by government.

  10. I work at the Christmas Markets Liverpool and have done for ten years, on no account has there ever been a no filming policy in fact we welcome it, if you put a search in Google or YouTube you will find plenty of videos about the Xmas markets, yes there is plenty of security but it's a big site here and we want everyone to feel safe x
