Part 8: The “In Search of Chateaux, Wine, and Croissants” tour sees us stop for a couple of nights in Surmur. There’s a wealth of things to do and explore here. As we’ve been before, we looked for something different and the Apple museum (yes really) didn’t disappoint. Adding in the big winery of Ackerman, a troglodyte village and a troglodyte tavern, was a great way to finish our time in the Loire. Any idea how to work that bread machine? Please tell me in the comments!

  1. Absolutely fantastic. You’ve really rekindled our love of the Loire region. We first visited early 90’s and the wine is just so beautiful! Fascinating trip Chris and Rachel – the troglodyte caves were spooky but the winery amazing!
Great aire there – why can’t we have these facilities in the UK!
What a coincidence meeting the CAMC at the Apple place and the troglodyte restaurant was very cool!
We were told by a French lady never to try the auto pain machines (while we were trying to buy some) so lucky you didn’t 😃
    Great vlog again Chris. 👍👍
