I scored this bike for only $20 and, of course, nearly every part was siezed. Spent an entire day stripping it down to the frame which included lots of penetrating oil, cussing, and I even had to pull out the dremel to cut some bolts. I am proud to say that nearly everything besides the tires came from my parts bin or was purchased secondhand.
It has a janky 1×7 drivetrain with a wide range 7 speed cassete. Trust me when I say if you are trying to do a 1x conversion just buy 1x chainring bolts and save yourself the hassle. Most posts online say you can just shave the preexisting 3x bolts down to adapt to a 1x set up. What they really mean is you need to cut the bolts down significantly and then file whats left. This was the most time consuming part of the build besides the tear down.
Really fun bike to ride down the trails and through town. I even hit a pump track for shits n giggles and I can report it does not jump well.

- BB – surpising the original was extremely smooth and in amazing shape given the rest of the bike so i kept that.
- Chainstay protector – old punctured 700c inner tube from my road bike.
- Chain – broken chain from a 3×7 so I removed a few links and it works perfectly.
