At the IAA Transportation conference in Hanover, Germany, we got an in-depth look at the Windrose Class 8 battery-electric semi truck. At first glance, this Windrose truck looks like a copycat of the Tesla Semi Truck, in fact, these two trucks were the only trucks at IAA 2024 designed to be electric from the ground up. During our time with Jason Roycht, strategic advisor at Windrose Technology, we learned all about what makes the Windrose BEV unique. This includes why the Windrose has one central driver’s seat, why it does not have traditional mirrors, and why there’s a version with one axle and a version with two.

How many aerodynamic shapes exist for a puller? Nose must go down as close as possible to the road, glass must be wide and high (love the x and CT for that), Visibility 360 degrees, comfortable seating for up to 13 hours, emergency toilet and as an option a living space including a bed, fridge and other amnesties for long hauls.
The real question is how many pullers will be FSD besides Tesla ??? 😮😅
This is an imitation of a Tesla Semi.
I guess we’re not the only ones stealing Tesla’s ideas
If I were Tesla I'd be pretty honored that basically another company that looked at the same problem basically validated (and copied!) every Tesla solution. It just confirms that Tesla engineers are top notch, and that even their tradition-breaking decisions (like the single seat) make sense. Every company like Windrose means that we all have to breathe a bit less diesel exhaust, and I'm here for it. I wish them good luck.
😮 Now we can get the same truck like Tesla in Europe….😉
Copycat?? Lol. If you think Tesla is producing semi trucks for the past 12 years then you're incompetent
Very nice.
Great an alternative to the Musky domain ! Specs, specs, specs, ….. US / Canada should approve , certify these rear view cams immediately. These guys no nothing of OTR driving ! They should have consulted a real driver……. you live in that thing.
Temu knock off
Did anybody notice @ 7:00? There was an OG, Tesla semi, passing through at the background.
No innovation – Copycat
Do dey have to copy, even the interior, and these YouTuber could not tell him as it is, ANYWAYS THESE COMPANY WILL NOT GET TO PRODUCTION…
Very interesting proof of Tesla concept. I read that the founder Wen Han graduated from Stanford and has raised over $110 million in funding. The plan appears to be to assemble in China, Belgium and the USA. So, a very complicated parts supply to coordinate and at least 3 big factories to get off the ground. Good luck with that! Then they will need $3 or $4 billion more in cashflow to get to breakeven.
"Prototypes are easy, production is hard".
Even the basic side mirrors became so hightech and complicated to repair nor replace… Just make a damn vehicle that is efficient period!
In the EU, BEV trucks are allowed 2 tonnes more than diesel trucks. And a diesel engine with exhaust, coolers and full fuel tanks adds about another 2 tonnes. So basically, the electric axle and batteries can weigh more than 4 tonnes without impacting load capacity.
Very good video, with a very informative and sensible spokesperson.
I imagine drivers will end up loving the center drive – not to mention the amazing torque of electrical motors.
wow, basically a temu tesla truck
Wilde Kopie
Great to see new start ups just giving it we are seeing the future.
WINDROSE = CARBON COPY
How surprising they couldn't come out with their own style The styling of it was stolen from Tesla when you don't have an imagination to create your own vision for the for the future. Without being a monkey see monkey do.
they said it's physically impossible. then they copied.
Very impressive. Tesla innovated now the world is following. This is exciting and gives me hope that EV trucks will dominate.
The moon roof would be ideal to grow vegetables in the cab for use by the driver. Imaging picking fresh lettuce, beans etc. It's a wild idea but hey, we live in wild times!
Wow. This is really impressive. Equally impressive is watching the procession of heavy electric vehicles in the background. Europe is really forging ahead with the adoption of this technology.
automatic doors but no autopilot?
Rear view cameras, instead of mirrors, are allowed in the USA… and they're available as factory original equipment. While FMVSS 111 (“Rear Visibility") requires mirrors, at least five suppliers of rear-view camera systems have been granted exemptions by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
allowing them to be used instead of mirrors.
It's called a "perimeter" frame.
it's interesting that Windrose is openly providing the battery capacity information… like everyone other than Tesla.
I'm sure Tesla doesn't mind it at all.
Kudo's to Windrose.
Will Windrose be able to compete cost wise?
The trucks in USA already has cameras as mirrors. Schneider has trucks without conventional mirrors operating on the roads as we speak. Maverick also has trucks with these cameras as mirrors and a few of other companies. He apparently doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I’ll stick with Tesla. Not some cheap knock off brand the looks exactly like a Tesla Semi. WTF? Who approved this?
Chinese Copied
What ever happened to that. Thor truck company. Building. Electric trucks. Class. 8. . n California
2:49 , well we saw Tesla doing that so we did , what a silly question to ask
I luv the truck so much that I'm making one for my game https://youtube.com/shorts/vOvOSQFgaPE?si=CUxHH7I_m85igxsA American Truck Simulator

Who knows the history on why it and the Semi look alike? A lawsuit or other?
