One of our “bucket list” climbs, we tackle the Llangynidr mountain road.
It was a great ride, with typical Welsh weather and spectacular views. We also did a section of the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal between Llangattock and Llangynidr to warm us up for the climb.

  1. Chapeau
I’d be interested to know what you have set your motor map to.
My wife has had her CGR ALe 3 weeks and I’ve adjusted it a couple of times. She seems happy at 50, 60, 90 but uses the Green 50% the most., although to be honest she rarely switches it on as it rides so good without power.
I’m expecting delivery of mine next week.

  2. Interesting – I had a Orbea Gain x35 Al e-bike which I got as I didn’t think I’d be up to riding a muscle bike. I got very fit riding it because it was so heavy and a rarely moved below 26km/h except in climbs. I found the green eco setting essentially took the weight of the motor away. I bought a muscle bike to ride with a club and haven’t looked back.

On the hills, I am sure Hattie was trying to keep up with you and you were able to go faster.

One thing you’ll find with the e-bike is that you can do base fitness – zone 2 outside. Just put it in full power on hills and keep your power consistent.

  3. This is a great ride for me as I am thinking of buying this bike (They don't allow test rides in my nearest dealer shop!!!!). Just a few questions if you don't mind, which CGR AL e bike is this as there are three on the website? Also which tyres are you using as they look like really good all rounders? Thanks!
