I recently bought this bike secondhand, probably paid too much for it ($250NZD) but I just fell in love with how it looked and how well the frame fits me (it’s massive, I am 6’2). I cannot for the life of me figure out which model it is, though I know from the decals it is from the 70s, I cannot find any bike online with exactly the same ones. Serial number not much help after a lot of googling to find similar. I am a total amateur but would like to get this thing looking as beautiful and running great as possible, maybe even find a few replacement parts.
I’ve been told I should replace the wheels because these are old, slightly bent and made of steel which is rusting. I would like to replace the chain ring(?) as pictured in the last photo the chrome plating is peeling off, but I’m not sure which parts I need to be looking for. Any advice on other things I should be replacing would be much appreciated too.
Some of these photos were taken a few weeks ago when I first got it, but I have since cleaned it up a bit, replaced the bar tape with the blue stuff, and had the brake cables and brake pads replaced (this thing has very finicky brakes).
