An insight into the yearly Dartmoor Classic cycle event. Established in 2007 the cycle sportive has grown to be one of the UK’s favourite and toughest cycle events. Run by volunteers and MDCC (Mid Devon Cycle Club), this film not only shows highlights from the ride but also gives an insight into the work of the incredible volunteers involved in putting the event together each year.
If you’re thinking of taking on a cycle challenge, it’s well worth watching the Dartmoor Classic film which takes you through from the start at Newton Abbot, out across Dartmoor, through to Princetown and back to the well deserved finish.
Riders can choose from 3 distances, around 30miles, 60miles and just over a 100 miles plus there are rumours of an additional (very different) cycle route taking place on the Saturday of the 2024 event which hardcore riders will be able to sign-up for in addition to their ride on the Sunday or take part in just the Saturday ride.
You may have ridden the likes of Ride London 100 or the Dragon Ride but neither of these have the constant bombardment of hilly terrain. So if you’re looking for the next level or want to ride something extraordinary for yourself or for charity take a look at the Dartmoor Classic for 2024 … you won’t be disappointed.
