A lot of this was from the last government and there cutting of police funding so. Why is there still a shortage of police when crime rises and drugs are everywhere only a small amount caught or seized the labour have gt an uphill battle because of what the previous government left a bloody mess

It's the same thing in every city. It's up and down the whole country. You'd be mad to leave the house after 7pm. Friday and Saturday nights are too expensive and anything can kick off. Before the cost of living came in, it was heading this bad but Covid and COL was the tipping point i think.

Build more prisons, build bigger prisons, remove "suspended sentences" from the equation and impose harsher and increased sentencing. I'm sure there's better ways to deal with crime in the UK, but that doesn't excuse the meantime. A lot of this is encouraged and allowed to unfold due to the justice system taking the laid back stance it has for so long. Start ramping up sentences, move people to the other end of the Country when they go to prison to make it difficult to see their families…make prison PRISON. It isn't a place any criminal wants to go. But it's clearly not a deterrent enough in its current state.
