If you haven’t heard of Brother Cycles, they’re a small British company based in Bristol, who produce mountain, gravel and track inspired fixie bikes, frames and apparel. This bike was one of their first bikes from 2012, so fairly rare.
The model is the ‘All Day’ and the frame size is 58cm, so it’s a large frame for riders around 5’10” – 6’ 4”. The bare frame, fork (including headset) only weighs 3.14kg (just under 7lbs). Nice horizontal rear dropouts and everything is straight and true.
The frame has been fully stripped down, old paint rubbed down, prepped and repainted with Bricklane Bikes powder coat paint system in a dark satin grey. The Sakae quill stem was originally painted black, now back to a bare alloy finish.
The original Tange headset has been fully cleaned, inspected, greased and adjusted. The bottom bracket threads are perfect and now copper greased, to ensure no seized parts in future. The seat post is also well lubricated.
I’ve got rid of the old narrow fixie handlebars (unridable) and fitted some retro chrome drop bars, fitted with some new red and black bar tapes. I’ve kept the original Trekto cross top brake levers.
The Andel CNC crankset is in good condition, but does have a few dents and scuffs, as the bike is now ten years old.
