What a massive day for the Chesterfield Canal Trust at Staveley Canal basin and the Staveley Town Deal. Where we see the completion of years of hard work as the Trans Pennine Trail bridge gets craned in so the cycle paths are now connected.
See the work going on at the basin to construct new Cafes, Workshops etc where we will hopefully see boats moored soon. Then onto the bridge and the works followed by a walk to Bellhouse Basin to see the works going on for the archaeological dig to discover the sunken boats, old wharf walls and any treasures that may be found!

Great video Steve, nice to see progress being made.👍👍
Thank you for another great video of our canal and making it more known. Hopefully I’ll see you again further down the road.
Great vid, so interesting,
Fantastic stuff Steve!!!!!
That's fantastic! Cheers to all involved in this canal project.. What a great day!
I have listened ti the excellent commentary twice but still miss any reference to the capacity of the bridge although 20 ton loads of clay were mentioned as were horses. Lovely old colourwash Victorian engineers' plans as usual. I assume that they are kept safe in the County Record office.
Great video…thank you…..it’s a pity the artists impression included platforms for the boats in the basin….which looked fantastic…..Unfortunately they were all just a false impression….not going to be built now 😢😢
Great progress!😊
As always…👍👍
Very impressive piece of engineering which should significantly advance this great project. Thanks for the update.
Great video ❤
Excellent commentary.
