There are only 21 km left to the end of the twentieth stage of the Giro d’Italia.

Pogačar is in the lead, sprinting in a solo breakaway towards the finish line in Bassano, the last obstacle before the triumph in Rome. Suddenly, Mattia appears, and with the contagious enthusiasm of his twelve years, he manages to run alongside the champion for several meters.

The most memorable moment of the entire Giro arrives: the future winner of two Grand Tours grabs a water bottle from his masseur and hands it to the young fan.

We’ve all seen that video. So have we at Elite. And we couldn’t let that magical moment go uncelebrated, so we organized a surprise for Mattia to give him the meeting of a lifetime.

Watch the documentary on YouTube and immerse yourself in the magic of cycling in its purest form.

A heartfelt thanks to the entire team and crew at UAE Team Emirates for accompanying us on this extraordinary journey!

  1. Ciao Mattia. Mi auguro che la voglia di allenarti e di diventare forte ora sia ancora più viva in te. E quando diventerai un campione come Tadej spero che ti comporterai con un bimbo come lui ha fatto con te ✌️

  2. I've watched a couple of times. What makes this so great is Pogi is so sincere about it. He's not just putting on a media show. It isn't all planned out with a script. He cares, and that willingness to be real is why he has so many fans the world over. Thanks for the best cycling season ever Pogi. Including the day with a young rider who will idolize you the rest of his life.

  3. He is a cyclist? No he is not. He is having fun riding a bike. Wish him all the best but making so much noise at such a young age is a bad sign. Let’s come back here in 8-10 years and see how he does. All the best ❤

  4. It doesn't matter which Team does things like this. It is the possible opertunity and focus that you gave young humans with this. They will follow their dream and probably they will be the future cycling pros. Do it more often. Focus on young people to give them more dreams and a focus for the future in this hard world. Cycling combines like musik.
