Hey guys!

When I first started trials last year, I dint know anything about the sport.. what bike to buy, what I needed and how accessible it was!

Hopefully in this video I can clear up questions you have and give you a little insight into this amazing sport. If you have any questions I haven’t answered in the video drop me a comment down there and I’ll get back to you.

Enjoy πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

  1. First trial this weekend at Carsington 🀞at the age of 54. I went to Trials Days in Leek on a training day, certainly worth a look at. Great vlog and I will be on the white route.

  2. great vlog James, I'm the same as you (started last year at 63yr old though). same here in Australia, everyone is so supportive. love it myself and looking forward to a cracking year. walking the sections prior is a huge help, especially if someone with experience can help, and practicing figure 8's and static balance. Our intro line is orange and you pick your own line as long as you enter and exit. white for me this year through the flags i think.

  3. Great intro James! πŸ‘ I am in my mid sixties and just getting into trials with a 2011 250 Gas Gas I have been rebuilding over the winter. I’m taking it steadily and still in the practicing stage at the moment! I plan to start doing some local trials down South here over the next few months. I will definitely be doing white route for the time being. πŸ˜€ You are spot on with your comments! Great work!

  4. Some very good advice here. Having had a break from 2010 -2023 I found it like putting on comfy slippers.
But like you said don’t rush or be pushed past that zone you feel good. We are all learning whatever experience of age. Great video jamesπŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

  5. 2nd time round for me in trials. Bought an old sherco 300 crashed it a lot, whisky throttle everywhere and scared the shit out of me and sold it. 10 years later I’m having another go on a old gas gas, see if I get any better this time round πŸ˜‚

  6. Nice video!
Club I help run in Kent do intro days for newbies try out and most people have taken up trials for same reason as you!, Lots of club activity down south as well

  7. Great Video. Having done trials up to 10 years old I have now got the bug again… 34 years later. For me this means dusting off Dad’s old twin shock and looking to buy my kid an Oset. A brilliant sport. Up in North Yorkshire we are spoilt for choice pure Lampkin country.

  8. I test rode an old gas gas and felt it was horrible ! Snatchy and not user friendly – tried a Beta Evo and it was lovely – that’s what I am now looking for – also tried a Sherco and that was lovely and smooth too – Beta or Sherco for me

  9. I'm 70 and taking up trials again after a 50 year break, during which time I did drag racing, sprints, road racing solos and sidecars, and enduros.
I'm doing my first practice day next Sunday on my 1976 Montesa, that I've rebuilt.
