  1. Cracked a road frame and the importer was resistant to replacing it (which it was after 6 months). So I put brakes on my track bike, and put a freewheel on one side of the rear hub. Trained, commuted and raced track fixed (brakes off for track), and race road single speed for a season. Never been stronger, fitter or pedalled better. Best I did racing road was third in a club race- sprints were hard work! A mate put flat bars on that fixie and he commutes daily on it!

  2. Fixies are super fun, and huge props to people to slay on their fixie. But if you want to learn bike handling and skills get a BMX or a dirt jumper or a mountain bike and learn to hop, jump, endo, 180, manual, etc.

I mean I've had a lot of fun on a fixie, but at the same time, meh.

    Sorry fixie dudes 🙂

  3. I justed worked on a fixie, and from knowing the price, and noe the components they use: Do not buy one new. They literally use a pastic inner bearing, for a bike concept with a usecase that constitutes probably the hardest strain on an inner bearing of all bike types.
I get that cheap bike, will come witz cheap components, but theyre not that cheap. And the inner bearing they used is like 3$ new.

  4. After riding two seasons on the track training and racing it improved my pedalling style, it really helps smooth out your pedalling. Funny training on the track then riding home on a road bike after training your legs felt odd. I can't recommend training racing on the track enough especially for anyone new to cycling

  5. Riding on a fixy is cycling on "hard mode," and that's why I like it, lol. Whenever I go back to my normal bike (single speed, gears are cringe), it's incredibly easy.

  6. I tried a fixed gear bike and I couldn't get over the idea that it was bad for my knees as it seemed to pull down on my legs if I wasn't careful, also to slow down you have to pull up… I don't think we should be pulling loaded feet upwards with the knee joint.

  7. This guy is so tall he makes just about every bicycle look like a kids bike, while seth of berm peak is so small, just about every bicycle makes him look like a kid.

  8. Can we please get this man a road bike frame that's actually sized for him?

Human height doesn't stop at 6'4". Getting stuff that fits is obscenely expensive, but this guy is a professional bike presenter; he should be presenting on something with geometry that's scaled to his leg stroke & rider area distance.
