Cycling “Le Tour de Bourgogne” in 6 days – Canal du Nivernais
In May 2024 I cycled the “Tour de Bourgogne a Velo” in the Burgundy region of France.
A very pleasant ride and perfect for people who want to avoid the “hassle” of the transportation of bicycle and cyclist back to the starting point of a tour
I stayed in hotels for 2 nights and camped for 3 nights.
Highlights:
* Cycling infrastructure
* Availability of eating / sleeping / shopping options
* Mostly easy cycling, a bit more strenuous in the stretch from Dijon to Paray le Monial
* Beautiful gentle scenery, specially in the wine region after Baune.
This fifth video of the trip is about the stretch I ride from Cercy la Tour to Merry sur Yonne. For the complete day we cycle along the Canal du Nivernais. A really enjoyable day of riding in friendly and cozy French countryside.
At the end of the day I pitch my tent at a lovely campsite in the tiny village of Merry sur Yonne.
Total ride today was 128km long, with only 300m of elevation.
Enjoy the video!!
