This is the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe!
Hyundai has gone to town on the Santa Fe, updating the looks from a regular, fairly ordinary-looking SUV to one of the most imposing 7-seaters on the road today! So, is it more style over substance, or should you consider the Santa Fe over competitors like Skoda Kodiaq or Nissan X-Trail? Let’s take a closer look.
So of course, we need to start with the design, and it’s fair to say we’re seeing a bit of classic Land Rover design language from the outside… But that’s no bad thing! The boxy shape really helps the Santa Fe stand out on the road, as do the smart and unique H-shaped daytime running lights. The front end is minimalistic and impressive, while the rear end is clean but really emphasises the boxy design.
Step inside and the Santa Fe is a really nice place to be. There’s a large curved screen that incorporates both the digital dials and infotainment screen, and thankfully there are separate dials for the climate controls. The seats are super comfortable, and the majority of the cabin is fitting with soft touch materials. There are absolutely tonnes of cupholders, so practicality isn’t an issue, and even adults can fit into the third row of seats if needs be!
When it comes to performance, there’s only one engine available – a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder. This is available as either a self-charging hybrid with 215hp, or a plug-in hybrid with 253hp.
The new Santa Fe range starts from around £46,000, rising up to around £50,000 once you’ve added a couple of options. But should you really choose it over some of its class-leading rivals? You’ll need to stick with Mat to see for yourself!

Other than looks this car is awesome
Don't like the dog bone lights – looks like LEDs are missing.
The back end is awful – how bizarre, how bizarre (love the OMC clip).
Oh great, more over scaled cars to be driven on country roads, where the drivers have no concept of how wide the vehicle is in relation to their surroundings and driving ability. And the LED lights ideally designed to sear the retina of all the oncoming drivers and their passengers 🥴
As amazing as this car is an old RX400h, would offer the same kind of luxury and economy. With better brand value. For less than 5k.
Even Ford Flex is better than this in terms of looks. I guess The designer left the team before finishing the rear design.
Grey one looked better than the dirty brown
The drivers window going down, then coming back up with rain droplets still on the it is a red flag…?
I think the car looks really good, including the rear. A shame the punny towing capacity which would be expected given the engine – this is important for many buyers in this segment. It probably isn't any good carrying 7 people either for the same reason.
I drove the previous model recently on a USA road trip! Outstanding car for long distance driving. The dials that become rear view cameras as you indicate were a godsend when in the USA you are constantly being overtaken and undertaken. The stand out feature for me was lane departure. It follows lanes really well, none of the lurching from left to right between the lines, it almost seemed to follow the left line at a set distance. Glad you like it, i thought it was the best driving of 6 cars i rented!! Does a lot of the work for you when driving without taking over fully.
So the Hyundai-KIA Company just took the Kia EV9 and turned it into a petrol-engined car under the Hyundai brand? I mean it looks like 90% EV9. Inside and outside.
Finally a car that comes close to my ideal car. To bad it looks a bit shite from the outside 😀
This car is not good last long on the road. Not reliable
something I'd like to see is the pickup at highway speeds when the car is full of passengers and luggage
Awful !
I bought my first detached four bedroom house with an acre of land in Surrey for £52,000 in 1978. It's now worth £1.8 million WTF are people paying this sort of money for a plastic box for that'll be worth £200 in 10 years. Don't waste your money.
The rear looks like what future cars looked like in the 80s
Mat its HUN DAI
Hyundai designed by Lego
I just like this car, I think they cut the right corners for the price and looks.
Inside is amazing but again Korean why doesn’t make the car look nice ? , Kia new suv is look so nice but this no thank you
Mat mispronouncing Hyundai. Very disappointed
don't know if this is the best car of 2025…but definitely the ugliest
Rubbish car ! its sad when Hyundai build a car that looks that bad !
Ugliest car of 2025 😅
You know that you live in a shithole when you can’t leave anything in your car because it might get stolen.
