During the night it rained all night. It also rains in the morning, but I decide to pack my things. The tent and laundry are very wet. It’s nine o’clock when I leave. Just outside Feldkirch it actually gets dry. The downpour lingers in the valley. I continue cycling on a quiet cycle path. Few cyclists to be seen, however. The ascent of the arlberg starts very gradually. It only gets tough at Kloserle. The road meanders upwards in countless hairpin bends. With a detour it is a bit busier and all traffic has to go over a narrow road. Just before the top it also gets sunny and I see five holiday cyclists. There is also the exit to Lech. The last part after the hairpin bends is very gradual, the climb flattens out. No pass height is indicated at the top, but an ugly restaurant. After putting on warm clothes I start the long descent. The valley at Landeck is much more humid with no fewer than four rainbows. The campsite is quickly found in the town. A very good campsite with a separate field for hikers, closed cabinets with charging points. A separate recreation room with hob and kettle. The facilities have recently been updated so the reviews are no longer correct. What is true is the nice owner. He appears to speak Dutch people well. He studied in NL and is married to a Dutch woman. The costs of the campsite 17 euros are more than worth it. Only the weather is bad, because it is raining here too.
