An 8-year-old Utah boy suffered a deadly fall off a corkscrew slide. Dallin Cunningham was transported to the hospital but he never regained consciousness. The parents are now suing the school district claiming it failed to maintain the mulch below the slide to cushion his fall. The school district has now removed the slide from the playground. Inside Edition’s Steven Fabian spoke with the 8-year-old boy’s heartbroken parents.

My school doesn't have that kind of slide like that and my school is having a new playground.
I dont blame his parents Sue time Rip lil guy 😢 💙
RIP the playgrounds across the country 💀
I worked in a CPS school and the kids had to go outside as long as it was 40 degrees outside. So not too shocking that they were out in the cold.
Updates on this clown lawsuit?
Jesus the corkscrew slide in our elementary school was built on concrete
Just sue, sue, sue how about lets prevent!! So these parents dont have to sue over something that was avoidable 💔
Aww rip little buddy 😢
That is so sad and tragic
Miss u dallin! I'd do anything on earth to bring u back. So many people miss u and James misses u the most. We'll forever miss u.
Love ailayah. 💔
I actually have been to that playground before 😢
I was there when it happened if you got any questions ask me
Damn. That's devastating
Goodbye❤️🩹
I know the feeling, fly high little guy
Why would he decide to fall off from a corkscrew slide? He might get hurt!
Oh it was winter why tf was he on the playground
No!😞😱😭
Lawsuits like this only happen in the US. The suing culture is ridiculous in the US. It was just an accident in an activity that there is always risk involved.
Cunningham is my one of the teachers in my school second name…
Doesn't matter how much mulch is there, if its frozen its solid and hard when you hit it.
how do you die from a 15 ft slide
R.i.p Dallas I’m sorry if I spelled your name wrong but you will be missed I’m sorry you poor child 😢🕊️🕊️🕊️
We should be thankful that our elementary schools didn’t let us play on the playground during winter.
It was maybe too windy or maybe the wall slide was too short, so he fell down in the full speed
Tragic the kid died, but don't bankrupt the school because you're looking for somewhere to point your grief. Accept that tragic accidents happen. All risk can never be mitigated.
He's dead 😭
A foot tall? I guess none of these slides have enough then
Please don't ruin recess for millions of children just because of a freak accident. We don't ban cars just because one child died in a car accident…
So it's tragic and all, but come on. Suing the school district? How about you do your due diligence as a parent. Talk about passing the buck to make a buck….sick.

My school whenever it was winter or late November or February we were not allowed too go on the slides they were blocked off same with the monkey bars and swings one time it was so bad sense our entire small town is on,like 5 layers of mountains our school was on the top and one time it snowed so bad that the entire roads were covered in ice and thick inches of snow where we could even walk up or drive
Now the playground will be torn down and the land will be sold to pay legal cost all because the Cunningham boy wanted to be a goof off that day.
How??! Just how!?
Sue the school district? For what? The frozen ground? How about suing God for making it freeze? Parents should be sued for not teaching their kid not to slide over concrete or frozen ground.
How is there a consequence to LITERALLY EVERYTHING?!
This is what happens when poor design meets idiocy, or in this case, a child. And some other comments stated it coulda been anyone's child, therefore I think higher guard rails and deeper mulch is a very good case for a law suit and to help ensure it doesn't happen to anyone else
😢 bro feels… rest in peace
