On the night of September 10-11, the Carola Bridge collapsed – one of four crossings over the Elbe River in the center of the German city of Dresden.
The pedestrian and bicycle parts of the bridge collapsed, as well as the tram tracks.
In addition, two heating lines were damaged, and hot water flooded part of the coast.
The area around the bridge was cordoned off.
The collapse of part of the bridge could have been the result of corrosion.
