The Bob Graham Round is a long-distance fell running challenge in which runners attempt to summit 42 of the highest peaks in the English Lake District within 24 hours.

I had the opportunity to spend the entire month of June, 2023 in the Lake District, training and preparing to attempt the 42 fell challenge the weekend of my birthday in celebration of turning 42 myself.

  1. Vraiment superbe ce filme Jeff – tu a réussi a capturer l'essence meme de la Round, avec juste assez d'histoire pour raconter l'histoire du lieu, de la course de fell, de la Round ainsi que les gens qui l'illumine. Seriously, this one warrants being entered to VIMFF. Kendal Mountain Film Fest and a few others. Vraiment, mais vraiment, ton meilleur oeuvre jusqu'a present. Well done!

  2. Wow, what a film and endurance challenge! This film has been in my que for a while; decided to watch it tonight as I needed some mental uplift from depression and some inspiration to continue my base training in order to get back to running regularly. I've seen videos and films before of the Wainrights and associated areas but this was the best, by far. Congrats on accomplishing that challenge!! (By the way, you look much younger than 42!)

  3. Well done mate. You’ve inspired me to push for this. I’m starting with leg 5 and we’ll see where that takes me. This is a wonderful video. You should be extremely proud of both accomplishments

  4. I was born in the Lake District, grew up just outside of it, not far from Ricky and have walked and camped on many of the fells shown but I am absolutely captivated by this video. What an incredibly professional and well put together documentary. You have a new fan.

  5. Watching this on the sofa and getting very excited for my upcoming UTS100. Every time I watch one of your videos it makes me want to get back out there and run up some hills! Thanks.

  6. What an incredible film and an incredible achievement! I live in the Lake District and have been away for 5 months, this has made me even more excited to return! Hope to see you back!

  7. Watched this film and thoroughly enjoyed. Admired your approach with the recce’s. The volunteers are amazing people. Been on the fells many years and watched the BG attempts. Thanks so much for sharing.

  8. I lived and worked in the lakes as a pastry chef near Windermere for 3 years, 10 years ago. Ironically, I got into running long after I left 😂 I didn't have the time/energy to take advantage of the fells.

  9. Ok today I learned that Jeff is 42 years old… all this time I thought he’s like a little over 30 😭 so here’s my goal, to be half as fit (mentally and physically) as Jeff right now in 13 years 💪🏼

  10. I live 50 miles from the Lake District and just to say you've made a wonderful job of showcasing this area of the UK, great job! And… congratulations on your Bob Round success.

  11. Thank you, Jeff. I've always wanted to tour the Lake District in an authentic way. You've made me feel like I've been there!
    Excellent quality storytelling and photography.
    Congratulations on meeting your goal!

  12. Incredible story and quality (as always), Jeff! Superb. Loved your last comment at the end (about having 2 minutes)! And hello from Paper Trails! 😜

  13. Excellent video. I have spent a lot of time on the Fells and I actually moved up to live in Windermere 12 years ago because of my love of the area. The Fell Running community is unique. You have put together one of the best videos I have ever seen about running the Fells and showing some brilliant views and conditions when out and about. I trained to do the Bob Graham many years ago but realised it was beyond my abilities after doing one particular 16 hr training day over part of the route. Your video has just motivated me to put on my Fell shoes and get out for a run over the lower Fells around my home. Thanks, Jeff. Brilliant, well done. (Now subscribed).

  14. I've seen loads of your films on ultras, the UTMB etc & always been super impressed but now you've got me thinking what I really want to do is fell running. It's more "free" & less structured. It also requires meticulous planning, immense unpredictability & help is further away. Yet it's joyful running. Soul running. Freedom wearing shoes 😂 It's more primal.

And this is the only doc I've seen of yours where I got emotional. Really pulled in the heartstrings. Fantastic!!

  15. Kudos to you, Jeff!! What a wonder documentary!! This production is so well done that even non runners would thoroughly enjoy viewing!! Congrats and thanks for sharing!!

  16. It's a shame the natural landscapes of the lake district has been so destroyed by deforestation and over-intensive sheep farming. Seems like a cool run though!
