My 13 yo son wants a full suspension bike.

This young man has taken apart the half dozen hand me down bicycles around our small farm and built himself a bike that works from spare parts. He never asked for a bike. He just took it upon himself to create one. We went to Academy today and he immediately went to the bikes. He began pressing me for a full suspension bike. He really really knows his stuff. I'm a mechanic so I know too, but not the detailed things like brands of brakes and gear shifters and other bike specific parts. Anyways. He sees this Ozone GIRA KT29 and he's certain that's "the one". It has all the right features.

I did not buy it for him. I told him " let me look on marketplace for a better deal."

There I find a 2018 GT Verb. The ad says Bought new in 2018. Custom made 2018 GT Verb GTG5E-MO-D cm17boogo53. Full suspension. Special built with several upgrades: wheels, brakes, handle bars and tires. Custom built by local bike shop.

I look online. This is an $800+ bike for less the price of a new Ozone GIRA KT29.

My son takes good care of his stuff. He'll park it indoors and fuss over maintenance because he can't help himself.

Seems like a no brainer.
Is the GR Verb a good buy? It was lambasted online by some reviewer. But their point of reference seemed to be high end bikes.

My wife is as all "buy him an $80 bike from Walmart."😮‍💨
