The week before last I did my first Multi-day cycle.
The trip was about 250km total, in the Cork and Kerry mountains, It was hard, wet, and heavy.
I brought enough stuff to last me for 6 months but most of it was useless for the journey. Now I’ve got the bug! I need to do it again, the sooner the better!
My issue is, I don’t have my own bike that’s capable for long cycles, or overnight stays.
I’ve been doing a bit of research in what bike I want to get, and my heart says gravel is the way, as a lot of the cycling I would be doing would be on roads. I was initially leaning towards a hard tail MTB. But I think I want to go lighter and faster, but want to have light gearing for steep uphill when needed.
My budget is around 1200-1300 euro. I’m keeping my eye on the second hand market, but if I had to buy new I’m not really sure what to go for in this range.
How do these look for the price? :
