It's a bit unfair to talk about vali's wins without acknowledging the context that pom pom, tahnee, Camille, etc were out of the races for an extended period of time ALLOWING for vali to win consecutively. Had those other riders not had season ending crashes, it's fair to say she perhaps wouldn't have this record currently and despite those riders finally being back at racing they are coming back after a long hiatus and need time to get up to speed where as vali has momentum and it's easier for her to remain dominant until the other girls get back their strength.
We all know Finn Iles is the real champion 🙂
While there's a crisis for funding of MTB teams, it's not affecting the road racing teams; and there's the problem. MTB racing isn't getting enough viewers for sponsors to throw their cash at the sport.
I think I read that Puck Pieterse is not going to contest the last two mtb rounds of the year. She's going to race in other disciplines instead 😭.
