The Trek 620 touring bike was handcrafted in Waterloo, Wisconsin nearly forty years ago from British Reynolds 531CS tubing. Borrowing the fit and legendarily long wheelbase of its big brother, the Trek 720, Trek described this tourer as a “machine that could be counted on to swallow up long lengths of road with silent efficiency”. The lugged frame featured three, count ‘em, THREE water bottle mounts and enough rack mounts to support a cross-country tour, which many did. The color-matched rear luggage rack was manufactured by Blackburn as part of the original kit.

This particular 620 “resto-mod” was lovingly adapted for comfort and convenience with a hodgepodge of vintage and modern components, including European trekking handlebars, 700c aluminum wheels, a Velo Orange leather saddle, quill stem adapter, and crank, 1980s Suntour friction thumb shifters, Shimano Deore derailers and cantilever brakes, and Biopace chainrings.
