5MV-X2035c – Why the X30?

In this video I take a look at the Mahle (Ebikemotion) X30 ebike system and compare it to the other X-system products. I explain some of the rationale as to why the X30 was developed and the benefits that the system can have from both a business and rider perspective.

About the 5MV channel
————————————–
My name is Terry and I love cycling. I have named my channel “Five Minute Velo” (5MV). I have called it 5MV because the videos I upload will (mostly) last no longer than five minutes. Each video will cover just one subject that is described in the title. Although the channel is mainly about cycling on the road, I will also cover some light (gravel) off road riding and cycle touring from time to time. No matter what, much of the advice will be pertinent to many branches of the sport/pastime.
I am new to posting videos on YouTube (May 2020) and I have much to learn, particularly in terms of presentation style and production quality. As such I welcome constructive comments that will help me improve the videos that I produce and upload.
There may be some dry humor in some of the videos, so dry it may not always be obvious :-).

So the X35 came first, then the X20 and now the X30? Odd numbering scheme. Do you have any idea what the numbers actually mean?
The iX30 battery is listed in the video as 236Wh and not 350.
X35-equipped bikes seem already on close-out pricing? X30 seems like X20 subjected to the old "product-cheapening department" efforts IMHO. I have X20 and X35 gravel bikes and TBH don't really notice much difference despite the X20's torque sensor. I DO very much like the thru-axle vs the solid axle/nuts to hold the rear wheel on so for that reason alone I might pay extra for X20, but that's a small thing, kind of like buying Campagnolo EKAR vs EKAR GT…another product of that "product-cheapening department." Totally agree with "IF YOU WANT AN ELECTRIC MOTORBIKE, LOOK ELSEWHERE" Bravo!
Thanks for this and find your videos really useful. Just bought an x35+ gravel bike. I’m hoping Mahle have added in backwards compatibility so at some point if my hub drive dies I can replace with an x30 and can add the torque sensor BB. suggestion is that it will all work with the Iwoc chargers and batttery / extender etc. I think having a torque sensor is the biggest upgrade for riding feel and power delivery
