After doing a few gravel races on my alloy Priority Apollo bike (that is normally used for commuting to work), I decided to full send it and get the Grail CF SLX 8 (size S). I’ve always loved this color way and the integrated frame storage, and I wanted to go full carbon for once.

Coming from a heavy alloy bike that had an internally geared hub/belt drive, this bike feels and climbs like a dream. Went all out and finally learned how to do tubeless tires and waxed the chain. It turned out to be surprisingly easy! Definitely easy to start this way, as opposed to converting later on.

Crushed 18 of my personal segment records on my first ride without even trying! I’ll still use the belt drive/IGH for training/commuting, but save this for the ultra races and long weekend rides for when I want to go fast.
