Did that and it works fine. Walk assist doesn't but we never used it anyway. Got like 5 little magnetic switches for 15 bucks on Amazon.
Anyway makes me laugh a bit. Way easier than waiting 2 weeks for a 50 dollar 'part'. Figured I'd post in case it helps anyone out.
