I bought this 1978 Fuji S10-S for $40 on December 31, 2022 and have since replaced the bottom bracket, tires, tubes, chain, pedals, and seatpost in addition to installing a bottle holder, fenders, rack, bag, and bell. I've regularly cleaned the drivetrain including flushing and relubing the freewheel after getting 1500 miles out of the original chain (the replacement is a KMC Z8.1 with quick link). I have now ridden it 2600 miles including three metric centuries. It's amazing how good it feels (I'm 5'10, it's a 54 cm frame) whether cruising on flats, grinding up hills, or rocketing down hills. I tend to average 15-17 mph riding this bike (and my other bikes), but it's amazing how little soreness I get riding this bike even 50-60 miles. Truly a diamond in the rough for supposedly pedestrian 1020 steel, though double butted.
