I would like to buy a carbon endurance road bike with electronic gears (Shimano rather than Sram). I didn't actually want to spend more than €3500, but I want a bike that I can enjoy for longer.
I bought a Triban RC 520 from Decathlon as a beginner a year ago (https://www.decathlon.at/p/301734-69510-rennrad-triban-rc520-disc.html). I have ridden 2800 km on it. I ride tours between 60 and 100 km in Austria and would like to do longer tours in the future. I'm looking for a mixture of a relaxed riding position but also speed. I would also like to ride the odd gravel or dirt track, but mainly on roads.
Visually, I like the Canyon Endurace bikes best, although I'm unsure about the price/performance ratio.
Endurace CF 8 Di2 (3849 €) (https://www.canyon.com/de-at/rennrad/endurance-rennrad/endurace/cf/endurace-cf-8-di2/3709.html?dwvar_3709_pv_rahmenfarbe=BK%2FBK) Apart from the gears and seat post, this has the same equipment as the CF 7 for 2500€ (https://www.canyon.com/de-at/rennrad/endurance-rennrad/endurace/cf/endurace-cf-7/3707.html?dwvar_3707_pv_rahmenfarbe=BK%2FBK). Unfortunately, the CF 7 only has a mechanical 105 and it also seems quite expensive for € 2500.
Actually above my asking price:
Endurace CF SLX 7 di2, possibly available in the Canyon Outlet for € 4250, regularly € 4550 (https://www.canyon.com/de-at/rennrad/endurance-rennrad/endurace/cf-slx/endurace-cf-slx-7-di2/3710.html?dwvar_3710_pv_rahmenfarbe=R077_P01) Better frame, wheels, power meter, but only 105 di2. Are the wheels and the SLX frame worth the extra charge over the CF 8? I don't really need the power meter (for now).
I find the Canyon Endurace bikes very expensive, but I want a bike that I can enjoy for longer and not think I want a new one in 1-2 years.
In view of the price/performance ratio, I initially toyed with a Radon Spire Disc 8.0 for €2,500 or 9.0 for €3,300 (https://www.radon-bikes.de/roadbike-gravel/carbon/spire-disc-carbon/spire-90/) However, the maximum tire width is only 28 mm, so I'm not sure about the occasional gravel bike path and the riding position. I also don't like the look of it as much as a Canyon.
I've also considered the Giant Defy Advanced or a Cervelo Caledonia.
Which bike would you recommend? How big is the difference between a Canyon Endurace CF 7 or Radon Spire 8 for 2500€ and a CF 8 or CF SLX for about 4000€?
Thanks for the help!
