Lisa and I went for a walk for about an hour along the River Weser, which runs through the center of the city and eventually connects to Bremerhaven and the North Sea.
The Weser (pronounced [ˈveːzɐ] ⓘ) is a river of Lower Saxony in north-west Germany. It begins at Hannoversch Münden through the confluence of the Werra and Fulda. It passes through the Hanseatic city of Bremen. Its mouth is 50 km (31 mi) further north against the ports of Bremerhaven and Nordenham. The latter is on the Butjadingen Peninsula. It then merges into the North Sea via two highly saline, estuarine mouths. (Wikipedia)
The promenade area of the river is lovely with many places for food and drink. River boat tours are available. It is perhaps the most popular part of the city for tourists and locals.
Weather 18C a bit overcast and calm winds. Lisa noted very few people wearing baseball hats in Bremen.
We stopped at a lovely Arabic restaurant very close to our hotel and had two chicken schwarmas and a tea with mint and lime – delicious!
