Bought a Gitane Tour De France on a whim for $50. I stripped it down thinking I'd service it and build it back up. I got halfway through and decided it wasn't worth doing so I'd just strip it for parts.
Front derailleur is cracked, front wheel was an absolute brick, cable end is locked in the shift arm, rust on rust on rust.. too much work considering the state of the paint job and the nature of the bike. It's my size, but I'm not that into it.
Any value in the frame (for someone else)? Rattle can spraying it feels like sacrilege. My local thrift shop will chuck it in the scrap pile. First 6 pics are after teardown, rest are before. Cheers
