First view!
Maybe they should pay road taxes, then they would have some leverage?
But if they were concerned about safety, they would not be riding bicycles.
bikers in berlin cant bike. thats the truth.
good, the Berliners and the rest of Germany deserve to be safe while cycling.
A major difference between the third world Germany and first world Netherlands is that Germany paints the roads and calls it a day. If there is no paint, drivers respect the distance more. The paint gives them the excuse: Oh, the cyclist is riding within that boundary box, therefore I can drive right next to them, because I'm at the left side of the painted line; meaning the 1,5 and 2 meter distance rule doesn't apply anymore.
The other stinking culture here is if by mistake you end up on the street while there is an actual bike lane (transitions are terrible here, so you'll be stuck until next entrance to your lane), the drivers find themselves in a position of stripping your right to be alive. They break all laws to teach you a lesson by honking and driving so close, just to tell you that you're not supposed to be there.
Having lived in 5 cities in the last couple of years, I find both infrastructure and culture of using shared spaces quite horrifying. But yes, putting it next to Somalia, Germany suddenly becomes that heaven that eveyone knows.
Cars don't even should be inside cities where most journeys can be done with public transport. Cars park on city streets and create dead space too. Get rid of all cars and improve cycling and public transport.
Accidents happen and deaths can be avoided just by wearing a helmet. I am a bicycle rider but several times I am a car driver. I can't tell you how annoyed I feel for those entitled cyclists riding in the middle of the street with a bike lane next to them. Another common factor on the roads is old people on e-bikes not wearing helmets. These people only demand and demand from others but do not help themself.
Honestly I don’t have the feeling that Paris is safer than Berlin, opposite though ! In Berlin bycicle lanes are often split from the car lanes, which is barely the case in Paris (narrower streets)
Now, where in the video does a crowd of cyclists occupy a highway? Dishonest thumbnail!
Just call those roads cycling roads protected from cars, super highway is stupid term.
because that's what they are. Cars are the problem for pedestrians, busses, trams, deliveries.
CARS ARE NOT MEANT TO BE WHERE THERE ARE LOTS OF PEDESTRIANS AND PEOPLE CYCLING! (only trucks and busses and trams max 30 kmh)
OUI ! 👍👏
