Just finished the Swedish safari route (bikepacking.com)
I started in Klaipėda, Lithuania, rode 200km to Ventspils, Latvia and took a ferry to Nynashamn, Sweden.
The safari route goes through a lot of singletrack that’s mostly hiking trails called Sörmlandsleden and gravel roads connecting the singletrack segments.
I found the trail challenging and technical, but nevertheless really fun to ride and insanely beautiful, with rocks and roots covering most of the trail and lomg wooden planks covering the swampy parts.
Gravel was in pristine condition in every kilometer and a lot of it was closed for motor vehicles.
Camping in Sweden is incredibly easy. There are infinite lakes to choose from with wind shelters and fireplaces surounding them.
The forests were lushing with beautiful vegetation, moss, berries and mushrooms for all to forage.
Looking forward to returning here and exploring the northern part of this magical county.
