Welcome thoughts on this selection or others I am not aware of.
Criteria:
1. MUST be sub £3k
2. Full suspension
3. Xc or down country orientated
4. More capable of rough stuff than my hard tail
5. Ideally sub 14kg
General:
My current xc hard tail is the chisel comp in the 1st column on the list. I want it to be more capable than that on rough descents, and think any FS will deliver that. I rarely go to trail centers so mostly ride XC terrain, sportifs and endurance events. I do a lot of climbing so it needs to be XC orientated and light, but I don't have the budget for carbon and don't really want the stress of monitoring carbon especially at the budget end.
Preference:
1. Specialized FS comp: seems a good option and essentially a direct upgrade, it's light and middle of the road in terms of spec.
2. Yt IZZO core 3: I hear a lot of good things about YT, spec of components is much higher but it is heavyish.
Note: several of the bikes fail the weight and price criteria (Scott 970 very heavy and Canyons out of price range). These are just there for framing the extremes.
