Oh my giddy aunt, many, many decades ago my Dad worked in Sandbach & when he came come clutching a Chatwins box we would be very excited, I'm sure now that he must a sneaked an extra one for himself. There still seem to be lovely areas in Newcastle, but all these village, town & city centres have parts that are struggling.

Looks like a nice town but so many places in Britain are in decline. It's sad to see and remember how it was. Hope you are both enjoying your visit.
