Hello, so i live in Mumbai, India and i cycle daily for commute and/or riding. I love cycling and i cycle almost 150-200 kms a week, with 4-5 50km rides a month. I used running shoes(Nike Free RN) but recently, my bike mechanic suggested that i should drop using running shoes and should switch to flat sneakers for cycling. I had adidas skateboarding sneakers(rubber sole) so i decided to try those. I typically do 28-30 kph but 3 rides in with the adidas and I was clocking PRs after PRs. Even on low efforts i was clocking 30.7-31 kph and my power delivery seemed effortless. The only issue is that the roads here are choppy and my leg keeps slipping off the pedal due to worse grip than my running shoes. So I was looking for suggestions for shoes that I could use and was wondering if shoes like Nike Waffles can be used for this(If they’re expensive i’d prefer i could use it casually+cycling). I’ve attached the picture of the ones i switched to. Some shoes I looked at: Adidas Ace Crux M, Nike Waffles, Nike Court Lite. Also do let me know if there’s some specific sole material i should be looking for.
