  1. There was so much going on in the last 50KM! Vollering did everything right (except with hindsight maybe railing the descent and pulling out an extra 30 sec as she did most of the valley alone anyway!) Rooijakkers did most things right except bizarrely not being able to hold a wheel when cornering!, she was spending bikkies big time closing gaps on every corner and switchback!, her biggest mistake was not giving herself a chance for the stage by not jumping around Vollering and leading into the last left hander, knowing how bad she was at holding the wheel!, Vollering put 3 lengths into her in the corner, game over! KN should say a massive thanks to Brandt and Muzic because that valley pull by Brandt and Muzic's jump at 3k, lifted the pace to equal the Rooijakker's attack, then Muzic pulling KN back to take the bonus on the line, could have killed her Yellow, but without her pulling she would have lost Yellow……Sooooooooooooooo many ways it could have played out …..fantastic watching! Mixed emotions about the result KN was not as classy as I'd hoped when (and how) she got the Yellow, but she put up a great defence on that last stage. Vollering sometimes has the attitude of someone who thinks she has a 'right' to win. You can understand her disappointment regarding the Yellow, but even though she won a hatful of prizes at the end, she had a face like a slapped arse and there seems to be a psychological crisis at every moment she is challenged or faces adversity. An huge under rated ride was in 17th Marion Bunel at 19! and Cavallar in only her 20th day of racing!!! Amazing. Great stage and race overall!

  2. Wow. Amazing. But damn, if I'm Vollering I'm trying to get out of my contract and get on a team that actually knows how to support me for a win.

  3. With that flat section between climbs maybe Demi attacking on the Alp du Huez would have been a better plan. Lots of energy expended on the flats with little help. Pretty exciting finish!

  4. Thanks for the great coverage throughout the race. The best race of the season so far – men & women. Congrats to Kasia and commiserations to Demi – SD blew it when she crashed and they left her for dead. Looking forward to seeing her on a new team next year with full support

  5. Please stop staying eg "with 1 k to go" (eg 2:18) without specifying that you actually mean "with 1 k to go to the next descent". When someone just says "with 1 k to go" it means that they are 1 km to go in the race, i.e. until the finish line. There are a few places where you do this or similar. Utterly confusing for those or us who didn't watch in real time.

  6. When desperate, embrace your inner Pantani and hope for the best.

What a race – this was fantastic and gripping to the end. Sad for Vollering, super happy for Niewiadoma… one of my favourite races this season.

  7. Many weird decisions from SD Works director sportif or riders don’t listen to them. Bad or weak at least Demi’s already got better plans for next year

  8. Let's face it: the best did not win… Fuck Fenix and Rooijakker. Could she have gotten a podium on her own? No, zip, zero chance of that.
