### 3-Day Hike from Maastricht to Aachen: Following the GR 128

Join us on an unforgettable 3-day hike from Maastricht in the Netherlands to Aachen in Germany, as we journey along the renowned GR 128 long-distance trail! This section of the GR 128 covers 62km of diverse landscapes, starting in the Netherlands, briefly passing through Belgium, and ending in Germany. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a beginner, this trip is easy to organize with convenient train stations at both Maastricht and Aachen.

**Day 1: Maastricht to Berneau**
Our adventure begins in Maastricht, following the Maas River through scenic nature reserves teeming with birdlife. The terrain is relatively flat until we reach the ferry at Eijsden, where the path starts to climb gently.

**Day 2: Berneau to Epen**
Crossing into Belgium, we trek through the charming region of Voeren in Limburg. Here, the trail meanders through forests and quaint villages. Highlights include an enchanting art garden where we enjoyed our lunch and a delightful vending machine stocked with ice-cream!

**Day 3: Epen to Aachen**
Re-entering the Netherlands, we traverse hilly woodlands, defying the common belief that the country is entirely flat. The final stretch takes us to the iconic three-country point before we cross into Germany and reach our destination, the historic city of Aachen.
