Hi everyone, I have found this bike on sale for €800 at a local shop. It would be my first gravel bike, and I was ready to spend more, but am now seriously considering getting it. Condition should be good as I trust this shop, but I will go check it out in person on friday.
What I want it to do:
Have fun with friends, go on tours in the woods around where I live, start getting more serious about cycling
Bikepacking for more than a week, therefore need mounts, somewhat comfortable geometry and ideally a rack – seems to tick all the boxes?
Concerns I have:
How does a 2018 Ultegra group fare against "modern" gravel specific groups?
Any other parts that have seriously improved in recent years and I should consider?
Does anyone have experience with this particular bike and/or how components from 2018 fare now in general? It would leave me with a big budget to upgrade parts and bags etc. gradually.. Do you guys think the price seems fair, provided its in good condition?
