Hi everyone,

I bought this bike recently off fb marketplace from a nice gentlemen in the area I live, it was quite a cheap deal (30£) so I couldn’t say no even though I never owned road cycle before and never seen a down tube friction shifter in my life.
I would like to benefit from your experience in road cycling and in vintage bikes, any kind of information you have about the brand and the model is appreciated. Potentially, I would like to know more about the bikes history, if is it something of a good value or just entry level old bike? What parts on the bike is original, I know the handlebar and the wheels are replaced with modern ones but that’s pretty much all I know. Except the bolts there is pretty much no rust on the bike which is I am super happy about but also makes me question that nothing on the bike is period except the frame itself.
Secondly, I also would like to ask your opinion on the reach and the length of stem, at the moment bike has quill stem of 80 mm (I am 178 cm, ~5’10) however I think this is far more aggressive then I want and I feel bit uncomfortable riding it. Should I get a quill stem that is 60mm same brand off eBay, or get an adapter to switch it to threadless stem and get modern stem? I am just not sure if 2cm of reduction in length will change a lot. Thank you so much if you’ve read all of it so far. And I would really appreciate if you could provide any information about the bike!
Best regards
