I am looking at doing a ride in the first half of January 2025, somewhere warm. The Gira de Costa on Bikepacking.com looks like a good one to me, but my parents think I'm crazy for even considering going to a foreign country alone. I have been learning Spanish for some years now and can communicate pretty comfortably, and I am a (strong enough) male.
Do y'all do these kind of trips solo? Any ideas for how to convince them that I am not unreasonable? I know none of this is "safe", but I don't want to live my life in bubble wrap. I am taking the precautions I can to make it safe. That is all I can do, right?
