Hello all, new to this and having a bit of an issue. Got a new tire and replaced it, upon putting it back in the bike, 2009(I think) specialized stump jumper 29”. I spun the axle by hand and it didn’t feel smooth at all, a bit hard to spin. So I removed the nuts from the cassette side. But that’s as far as I got, the axle wouldn’t pull out of the hub. Do I need to remove the cassette to inspect the bearings? Sorry for these questions this is all new to me and just trying to figure it out before riding this weekend. There was a bigger nut and thinner nut that I pulled on, the thin nut was on the outside while the thicker nut was inside. Will the bearings feel a little hard if the wheel is not mounted on the bike? The pressure maybe pushing the bearings together making it smooth? Any help would be great!
