Hello. I have a new Spectral 125 CF7, and am suffering from the dreaded headset creak. I also have a Kids Ride Shotgun Pro seat, which requires a special spacer to go in.

I have ordered the cane creek headset that folks recommend, but for the time being, i've just cut the plastic pins off the current headset dust cap and am runnign that, with my own spacers, and the stock stem and bars.

I see in reddit threads and forum posts tho that people say the stock stem is "not compatible" with standard spacers, only with the included ones.

I do not believe this to be the case, and it seems to be working fine in my situation, but I wanted to pop in here and see if anyone has input as to why this is believed to be the case.

EDIT: Here is a link to the stem: https://www.canyon.com/en-bm/gear/bike-parts/contact-points/handlebars-and-stems/g5-enduro-stem/10007521.html I see it says "This updated model now compatible with Aero Spacers". Perhaps there was an update that makes it so it's working with "standard' spacers, too?

EDIT 2: I just got off the phone with Canyon, and they said it should be perfectly fine. The guy that answered actually said he has the same setup on his bike, and it's been working great, and recommended the cane creek headset haha.
