It’s great to be an off-road fan with cash to burn. Automakers have been hard at work improving their established 4x4s. Pole position is now held by Lexus with its new GX550. So we took one to Pennsylvania along with a Land Rover Defender and a Mercedes-Benz G550 to suss out which rock-crawls past the others in this high-brow, high-luxury, high-profit wheeling segment.

Which would you take home?

  1. The Lexus is absolutely an amazing value. G over priced. LR, worries me particularly about the electronics & airbag suspension. I’ve owned both the G & LR. That Lexus is the first one I’d ever consider buying. Congrats on building a fantastic product and at such an amazing price .. WOW !

  2. Awesome video, I wanted it to be longer! 😂👏🏽 The GX was always my favorite SUV. If I ever wanted ti jump into the SUV world, the GX would be it all day everyday. 😎 Thanks for posting!

  3. I'm a Toyota owner – 3rd Gen Tacoma TRD Off Road done out with kings and whole lot of other stuff. I will admit if money wasn't an issue the G Wagon is the top dog for a true SUV in the Luxury segment. The GX 550 is the 2nd best True Luxury SUV and it is less than half the money of a G63. Some other videos try and compare the GX 550 to a Jeep or Bronco and they don't even compare to a Lexus. I will be upgrading to a Lexus GX 550 Overtrail and build it similar to how my Tacoma is but on 35s instead of 33s. I cannot wait.
Lexus = Reliability, Quality, Capability and Luxury.

  4. I'll be looking for a nice gx550 lease return to pickup in a few years.. depreciated 40%. Save myself $30k-40k.
I'll pick up a black overtrail and lift it put on some 35's and I'll have a really capable really cooshy off roader I can put 200k plus miles on.
They hit the design out of the park with this one.

  5. It shows how much you, the icons of companies that are supposed to theoretically go on expeditions into the wilderness, burn 30 liters in difficult terrain and when there is a flood, as recently in Dubai, it shows that the top engineers are so low and not capable of the amount you pay them. Why not create one for this type. cars with engines that you don't have to refuel and count on mechanics' service, because you knew where the designer's idea was, and if we are going to drive luxuriously in the city in cars worth 3 million dollars, I would prefer a private bus equipped with the details, I avoid traffic jams that use bus lanes faster and with less accidents because they travel almost 10 miles kilometers 😀 and what is now, 60 years ago these cars were only for selected elites, now they are available to anyone as long as you pay the subscription fee and let me remind you that in difficult areas there are no mechanics and gas stations and they need them to go there.🙏🌛☀️ test of an ordinary hammer produced in 1950 100 tons and 2023 80 tons shows that we have reversed development

  6. I expected the same results. I consider this video to be a comparison of two SUVs since Land Rover is not comparable for its poor quality.

  7. It would be nice for the Overtrail+ to come with real leather (Saddle Tan), 3rd row seating option, 3-zone climate controls, and heated middle bench seating. That would make it perfect.

  8. I feel It’s a very biased review coz the reviewer owns a 2006 Lexus😂. Here and there some footage and drawn a conclusion.
All new gen cars rely on technology, every one of them breakdown for various reasons unlike late 90’s to 2015 or so. After that all cars rely heavily on technology.
End of the day drive what money can afford , What the heart says and the one that puts a smile every time you drive it ❤

  9. You mentioned you have to dig for the diff lock button on the screen in the defender instead of having a physical button like on the GS, however the defender diffs automatically lock when needed so you don’t need to press anything.

  10. Way too subjective. No videos to prove the differences driving their opinion. A lot of focus on the Defender then poof….Lex wins LOL. Nice Toy/Lex propaganda.

  11. Love all the boxy designs! Most of these will never go off-road. It’s nice to have value packed gx looking so great. Any downside to the gx?
